MMA's Dennis Machio presenting soccer balls to Ingusi Youth soccer team in Mumias Kakamega County

The Magharibi Michezo Awards team has donated a set of uniforms to Busia Ready Bee Youth football club as part of the initiative’s legacy program.

Every year, the MMA team recognizes and rewards community heroes who have over the years dedicated their time and resources in mentoring young players. In addition, selected coaches receive advanced training on best youth development coaching practices. In 2017, the team trained over 70 youth and community coaches from across western region in areas of Anti Doping , Sports marketing and branding, first Aid, Nutrition among others.

During the 2017 edition of the  annual awards ceremony held on 23rd December , two community coaching heroes namely Dismas Ochung from Butere Mumias and Martin Makanda from Busia were recognized for their extra ordinary commitment towards supporting youth development in the region.

 A pickup taxi driver, Martin Makanda, the head coach at Ready Bee FC that trains at Sikura Primary school deep in Butula sub county – Busia County received a full set of brand new uniform donated by the Magharibi Michezo Awards team courtesy of the MSTJ Foundation.

While receiving the uniform from MMA team member Dennis Machio, Makanda thanked the Magharibi Michezo Awards team for lifting the spirits of budding talents, “We appreciate every support we have received from the Magharibi Awards team. It started when I travelled to receive advanced training on how I can best handle young boys in training and this partnership continues to bring smiles to everyone. We are very grateful.”

In Ingusi village located in Mumias, Dismas Ochung, a matatu conductor, was also presented with brand new soccer balls donated by the Magharibi Michezo Awards team as part of their legacy program.

“We recognize and appreciate these coaches who have extra ordinary love for the development of young talents. We hope that we can continue raising more resources in order to keep uplifting their morale as they shape the future generation of Kenyan stars.” noted Dennis Machio who visited both coaches at their training grounds.

The two coaches have also received advanced coaching training courtesy of the Magharibi Michezo Awards legacy program. Some of the coaching courses include sports team Marketing and branding, First Aid , Anti Doping , life skills, nutrition among others.
