It was yet another day of glory as Kenyan athletes Brigid Kosgei and Lawrence Cherono bagged double gold during the 2019 edition of the Chicago marathon on Sunday .Kosgei smashed the sixteen year old world record by setting a new time of 2:14.04  ending Paula Radcliff’s long reign on the record throne.

Lawrence Cherono sealed Kenya’s double in Chicago with  after fending stiff competition from Ethiopian duo of  Ababel Yeshaneh and Gelete Burka who finished in second and third places respectively
